Cristiano Ronaldo seems to be hoarding the football news headlines this week. First, it was his trashing of Manchester United and its manager. Now, we get the news that Ronaldo has teamed up to launch a Cristiano Ronaldo NFT collection with Binance. The first NFT collection drops on November 18 on the Binance NFT marketplace.
The agreement is a multi-year partnership with the world’s leading crypto exchange. This is part of Binance’s global marketing strategy, to potentially bring new blood to the NFT space.
CR7 NFT collection exclusively on Binance
The Cristiano Ronaldo non-fungible tokens will consist of seven animated statues of the football star that range from his early childhood in Portugal and continues into his illustrious career. The animated statues feature some of his most iconic moments, including his trademark bicycle kicks.
CR7 speaking about the partnership, said, “It was important to me that we created something memorable and unique for my fans as they are such a big part of my success, with Binance, I was able to make something that not only captures the passion of the game but rewards fans for all the years of support.”
Levels of rarity
The CR7 collection comes in four rarity levels, Super Super Rare (SSR), Super Rare (SR), Rare (R), and Normal (N).
The first Cristiano Ronaldo NFT collection will be released in two parts. The first part will include both the SSR (5 NFTs) and the SR (40 NFTs). These collectibles will be put up for a 24-hour auction, after which the highest bidders receive their exclusive Ronaldo NFTs. Bidding for the SSR NFTs starts at 10,000 BUSD while bidding for the SR NFTs will commence at 1,700 BUSD.
The second drop of 6600 NFTs includes 600 R and 6,000 N NFTs beginning at 77 BUSD for N rarity.
Utilities for Ronaldo NFTs
Each rarity level has different utilities, including
- Personalized messages from CR7
- Signed Ronaldo and Binance merch
- Access each time Cristiano Ronaldo launches an NFT collection with Binance
- A complimentary Ronaldo mystery box
- Participation in giveaways, merch, and prizes
The first NFT collection will be followed, in early 2023 with a second drop.
Binance teasers
In addition, Binance has added some sweeteners for new users. A Ronaldo Mystery box will be dropped to the first 1.5 million new users who sign up to Binance and complete their KYC. Some mystery boxes may even contain rare Cristiano NFTs.
Furthermore, US-based users of BinanceUS will receive a souvenir NFT provided they make deposits of USD that reach a designated amount. Those that obtain a Souvenir NFT will have whitelist access to upcoming CR7 drops.
